Arpaviejas began in 2001 in Barcelona with J. R. Kubensis alone, as a singer-songwriter. A year later the rest of the group's members joined the project and thus the band's journey began as a quartet. With a multitude of changes in his line-up and the occasional break in his career, the years have only strengthened the bad temper and widespread protest in Kubensis' lyrics.
