Manchester-based producer, cartoonist, and cross-genre DJ Mr Scruff has been spinning records since 1984 and earning a living from it since 1994. His marathon DJ sets seamlessly can range from deep soul, funk, reggae, afrobeat, jazz, Latin and hip-hop to harder edged electro, house, new wave, techno, and electronic—all within the same night. This Saturday, the indefatigable UK crate-digger will be joined at Astin by Barcelona's own Ivy Barkakati and Arnau Obiols, bringing their most danceable and eclectic sounds to the party.
Born in 1993, in the dawn of electronics, through its cabin have passed names as relevant as Aphex Twin, Todd Terry, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, SBTRKT or Ellen Allien in addition to the local DJ Fra, Marc Piñol and DJ Kosmos. Its counterweight, B-side, reverse and its alternative is Astin, where every night is the same... but totally different.
