The new Tropicalia lands in Barcelona from Latin Grammy winners Bala Desejo, the band at the forefront of Rio de Janeiro's artistic renaissance.
Their debut album, "Sim Sim Sim", channels influences from 60's Brazilian tradition, 70's psychedelia and MPB to create an avant-garde sound, as nostalgic as it is joyful.
The quartet of Dora Morelenbaum, Julia Mestre, Lucas Nunes and Zé Ibarra, who have also worked with artists such as Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa, possess many of the qualities of the golden era of Brazilian music while still sounding current.
