Barcelona Piano Day: Chano Domínguez + Guest Artist [POSTPONED]

For the second year running, Apolo presents Barcelona Piano Day, in alliance with the Sordina concert series, coordinated by composer Jaime del Adarve and Alberto Pérez of the Sol de Sants recording studio. The edition will feature flamenco jazz pioneer pianist Chano Domínguez.

In 2025, Piano Day celebrates 10 years of vindication of the instrument and its artists. For this reason, the Barcelona edition will take place in Sala Apolo, where the piano will occupy the centre of the floor to create a space of intimacy and proximity to the music, and will be dedicated to the memory of Pablo Domínguez, guitarist and producer who left us in February this year.

Chano Domínguez is one of the most influential pianists on the flamenco-jazz scene. A master keyboardist, composer and arranger from Cadiz, his career spans almost four decades and has been endorsed by several Latin Grammy nominations and has been awarded the Premio Nacional de Músicas Actuales and the Donostiako Jazzaldia. He has also released up to forty albums and collaborated with dozens of artists such as Enrique Morente, Wyton Marsalis and Hamilton de Holanda.

The second headliner will be announced on the day of the event. We can say in advance that he is a jazz pianist with an established career and international success. With almost ten of his own albums and more than 30 collaborations, he has played on the stages of the Winter JazzFest in New York, the North Sea Jazz Festival, the EFG London Jazz Festival and the Barcelona Jazz Festival.
