The kinetic power of Butcher Brown, coupled with the elegance of such a cool proposition, has secured them a privileged place in the international jazz funk scene.
They rightfully claim they can tour with Tyler, the Creator as easily as with Khruangbin. They have consistently showcased their admiration for D’Angelo, Spyro Gyra, Robert Glasper, Miles Davis, The Weather Report, and The Roots. Marcus Tenney on trumpet and saxophone, Morgan Burns on guitar, Corey Fonville on percussion, Andrew Randazzo on bass, and DJ Harrison on keyboard form this Richmond (Virginia) ensemble, well-seasoned on stage and boasting a discography that spans nine albums since their debut in 2013. Their latest work is aptly titled Solar Music (2023).
