El Junco

Ricardo Gabarre earned the nickname Junco as a child riding horses. Born in Fraga, he moved to Cornellá de Llobregat and, at sixteen, he took charge of Los Ángeles Gitanos. Even then they were leaning toward romantic songs, although their producer tried to introduce them to the market as just another group of rumberos among the many at that time.

In 1986 he released the LP Hola mi amor, which included several of his hits such as the single 'Hola mi amor', or 'Celos'. Junco would end the 1980s as one of the greatest representatives of the ""gypsy ballad"" along with artists of the stature of Manzanita and Parrita.

In 1991 he recorded 'bella sin alma', beginning a journey towards Italian song, which he would continue interspersing throughout the 90s. In 2000 he published Somebody Cantó, later announcing his retirement.

In 2012 he returned with an album titled Reencuentro, which was very well liked by his followers since they longed for the artist's return.
