JD McPherson returns to Barcelona to present “Nite Owls”, his first album in 7 years. McPherson’s fourth album, fifth if we count his Christmas album which he will present in our country.

For the last 5 years, McPherson has kept himself constantly busy writing new songs while being a session guitarist on tours with Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. With Nite Owls, JD wanted to try something new and different. He wanted to take inspiration from multiple decades and styles and incorporate them into his own sound such as the sounds and styles that come from The Ventures, New Order, sounds of Bowie and Alan Vega, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, the UK Factory sound, Dick Dale and Link Wray. With Nite Owls, McPherson draws inspiration from multiple genres of the past and combines them to develop a sound that is completely his own. "Nite Owls" could be a soundtrack to a 1960s summer. Twangy guitars, New Wave elements, Beach Boys harmonies, Ramonian rock and roll, or a Tarantine-esque Neil Diamond version.
