In a landscape saturated with recycled formulas, Kadebostany's emergence is a breath of fresh air. The Swiss band — yes, Swiss, although from the name you'd think they came from the Balkans — lands in Spain for the first time with ‘Elephant in the Room’, a single that combines contemporary pop and high-energy folk, featuring the voice of emerging Turkish singer Selin Çıngır.
Although they may still sound like a new discovery here, Kadebostany have been conquering half the world for a decade: more than 5 billion global streams, over 700 concerts in 25 countries and chart-topping hits such as ‘Castle in the Snow’, ‘Mind if I Stay’, ‘Early Morning Dreams’ and their reinterpretation of Beyoncé's ‘Crazy in Love’ for Fifty Shades of Grey.
They have been featured on the cover of and praised by media outlets such as Rolling Stone, Vice, GQ, Vogue and CNN, and their music has travelled from TikTok (where ‘Early Morning Dreams’ has accumulated more than 3 billion views) to the Champions League final, via Armani fashion shows and Netflix series.
