It is somewhat ironic that, after achieving worldwide fame as the lead actor in a police action series whose episodes took place in real time, Kiefer Sutherland decided to embark on a musical career exploring genres as serene and contemplative as country and Americana. Or perhaps it's the most natural thing in the world: after all, it makes total sense that Agent Jack Bauer would want to slow down when he picked up his guitar to try to emulate his idols Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. From car chases through the streets of Los Angeles to the couch of American roots music.

That respite officially materialised in 2016 with the release of Down in a Hole, his first album, which definitively turned a hobby into something a little more serious at the suggestion of his friend Jude Cole, singer and producer. A decade after that piece of advice, he travels the world with his guitar in tow.
