Mad Professor

Mad Professor is one of the most influential and respected figures in dub worldwide. Since the 1970s, when he began designing his own mixing consoles and effects units and later founded the legendary Ariwa studios, his career has helped shape the sound of modern dub. In the 1980s, he produced numerous hits and was awarded Best Reggae Producer for seven consecutive years, cementing his status as a true icon of the genre.

Throughout his career, he has worked on remixes for artists such as Massive Attack, The Orb, Sade, Jamiroquai and Rancid, bringing his unmistakable sonic signature beyond the boundaries of reggae and dub.

On May 4th, we’ll have the chance to experience him live at La (2) of Apolo, where he’ll deliver a spectacular two-hour live dub set accompanied by an MC. A special session revisiting some of his greatest classics and true gems released on Ariwa.
