Throughout his career, with nine albums released including a stint on Jack White's Third Man Records, Pokey LaFarge has never been one to look back with regret or disappointment.
Drawing inspiration from Africa or South America as well as the nearby American Southwest, Lafarge set in motion a body of work that married emotive lyrics with catchy melodies and an irresistible groove.
Thus was born "In The Blossom of Their Shade", which, unlike the melancholy of its predecessor, showed in a positive way that process of coming out of the darkness into the light, like the perfect soundtrack for a summer afternoon, without falling into the repetition of the swing and blues patterns of their first works.
