Sal Del Coche
Sal del Coche are not a typical band, but a three-headed alliance of three musicians from Vizcaínos, Lizardi, Alberto and Jangitz, which expands or contracts depending on the occasion and brings the label "post-punk" back to its roots as a playground for all kinds of sounds, from ASMR to no wave.
Horsegirl
This Chicago trio was the guest band on The Breeders' 30th anniversary tour for Last Splash. An indie-rock baptism. Their first album, Versions of Modern Performance, was produced by rock guru John Agnello. Plus, as if that wasn't enough of an endorsement, Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley of Sonic fucking Youth collaborated on the album. Anything else?
Los Campesinos!
You shouldn't be fooled by their vocal harmonies or their apparent candour: Los Campesinos! are so named because they raise their fist in the air for the working class, they have always flaunted their activism and their lyrics are filled with poetic-calibre metaphors.
Dehd
The band's peculiar name comes from the union of Dream Eagles (Jason Balla's band, singer and bass) and Heavy Dreams (Emily Kempf, singer and guitar): Dream Eagles Heavy Dreams, Dehd for friends. They wrote Poetry on a very unconventional winter road trip that took them through the New Mexico desert, the majestic wilderness of Montana and back to their native Chicago. And it's true that the album would work very well for a road trip: reverb-heavy guitars, soundscapes and a stream of sing-along songs.
Chat Pile
You have to go prepared to see Chat Pile. Between noise and sludge metal, they unravel the problems of a country that has very little that is divine and a world which is as full of rage as they themselves are. Global crisis, nihilism, anti-social darkness... and yet they are gaining fans with every concert. There are many of us who are increasingly fed up.
