Soccer Mommy

The title of Soccer Mommy's fourth album, Evergreen, is a declaration of intent: something 'evergreen' is something that doesn't perish, that doesn't lose relevance over time and remains, well, evergreen. It is a very good way of defining Sophie Allison's music, rooted in the tradition of American indie rock but with that contemporary edge that makes it connect with the here and now.

Soccer Mommy's career is something of an underground musician's dream. From her first demos shared on Bandcamp from her bedroom when she was still a teenager to her current militancy on the Loma Vista Recordings label, the sound of her songs has been expanding, starting from the emotionality of classic indie rock to include synthesizers or strings without sacrificing an ounce of melodic candour. Like, for example, on her previous album, Sometimes, Forever (2022), on which she worked with Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never) on production to test out new landscapes and textures. And like, on Evergreen, her new album, that promises to be, to a certain extent, a return to the rawest and most organic roots of her sound as a contrast. We will be able to check this out on 25th October, when this fourth album is released.

Soccer Mommy will present Evergreen on a tour that will bring her to Spanish venues for the first time: on 28th April in Barcelona's La (2) Apolo we will be able to discover what her songs sound like between four walls.
