The griots are nomadic troubadours who preserve the oral tradition of the African continent. Tiken Jah Fakoly is rightly part of one of these clans because, for a long time, he has transmitted the virtues of African reggae throughout the globe.
In their live shows, the guitars are crisscrossed with traditional African instruments such as the kora or the balafon. But the energy of the continent is not found only in its melodic lines, also in the lyrics of its compositions. Through the French spoken in Côte d'Ivoire, his native land, Tiken Jah Fakoly carries in his music an undeniable social and political message.
He is an artist of principles, and he taught it to us at the Cruïlla Festival 2019, where he moved body and mind in equal parts. So we are happy to repeat the experience next November 6 in Sala Apolo.
