Alba Rihe and Adrià Gil understand music as a generator of change and as a discipline capable of blending with other artistic experiences. They start from what they call #folkloreprogresivo, a term they took from Italy in 1955, which was recovering from a wave of fascism, and that advocates for a popular culture designed to expand opinions and escape hegemonic binaries.
Venecia Flúor writes lyrics that speak of our present and the issues we face as a community. They address the excess of information, technology as a tool for socializing and also for isolating us, and the little awareness there is regarding the body. They also sing about false freelancers, VAT and withholdings, animal desire, and napping.
In 2018, they released their self-titled debut album, which they explain is more of an exploration of their own sound shared with the public rather than just an introductory album. In 2022, they created the stage concert titled “Donde van ellas,” which opened doors to more institutional stages such as museums and theaters (CA2M, Utopia, Sala Hiroshima, Konvent 0).
Now they arrive with “Libre Albedrío 2024,” an EP recorded in New Zealand consisting of “Libre Albedrío,”“PIEL,” “Espejos,” “No me Interesa,” “Caballos,” “Hermana,” “Arreglo de bikini,” “Euforia,” and “Mal de Ajo,” featuring highly danceable sounds."
