Liveurope: 10 Years Supporting Emerging European Music
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Liveurope, the pan-European platform for promoting emerging artists, Apolo will host a mini-festival on September 12th and 13th. The event will feature representatives from European venues, local music and cultural industry professionals, a talk with Raül Refree, and concerts open to the general public.
The event will include networking opportunities between Liveurope member venue representatives and Catalan labels such as Pértiga Music, Primavera Labels, Suricat Music, Buenritmo, Aloud Music and ÈXITS Mgmt. These labels were selected through an open call organized by Catalan Arts, offering European promoters a chance to discover the local music scene and help boost the careers of artists and bands.
Additionally, the celebration will feature eight showcase concerts at La (2) de Apolo as part of the Be My Guest series, and an English-language talk titled “Folklore Has a Match with New Genres” where producer and composer Raül Refree will be interviewed by cultural programmer Aïda Camprubí. Both the concerts and the talk will be open to the public.

Liveurope is a pan-European platform promoting emerging music, of which Apolo has been a member since its inception in 2014. This year marks a decade of fostering the circulation of artists across concert venues throughout Europe, with 24 venues from 24 different countries currently part of the platform.
Over the past 10 years, Liveurope has supported the programming of emerging artists and bands, enabling more than 4,200 concerts by groups from up to 40 nationalities. This has resulted in a 46% increase in the number of emerging artists from up to 33 nationalities touring the continent.
The platform is supported by the European Commission and has proven to be a successful formula, adding value to the European music scene and concert venues while consolidating dozens of artistic careers. It has been instrumental in launching the careers of well-known artists such as Christine and the Queens, Hania Rani, MØ, and Aurora, as well as Catalan artists and groups like Rosalía, Rita Payès, Morad, and Tarta Relena.
For its part, Apolo has programmed 181 emerging non-national European artists from 22 countries, promoting their careers in one of Spain’s most iconic venues. These artists include Acid Arab, Kae Tempest, Royal Blood, Charlotte de Witte, Roosevelt, Say Yes Dog, and Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul.
