Plasma is a Barcelona-based project that weaves together music, community and intersectionality. It began as an online radio of mixes on SoundCloud with different residencies and, over time, expanded into podcasts, articles, takeovers and collaborations with independent collectives and labels from different parts of the world, creating a global network that connects scenes and communities through music.
Within the framework of this event, we present the round table 'Club, Identity and Pleasure from an Intersectional Perspective', moderated by Sofy Suars and featuring Chica Acosta, Muna Khaled and Fatou Diagne (aka LIBERTANGO.). Each artist brings a distinct perspective shaped by their own contexts and trajectories: Chica Acosta from Colombia, Muna Khaled from her Egyptian-Austrian roots and Fatou Diagne from her Senegalese heritage.
Starting from an intersectional perspective, we open a space for listening and reflection on how gender, race, class, geography and sexuality shape, and sometimes limit, access to and experiences within the club. We understand the underground not only as a scene, but as a practice of care, resistance and encounter, where it is also possible to imagine and sustain other forms of pleasure.
The event will close with DJ sets by Muna Khaled and Fatou Diagne, bringing these conversations into the body, the rhythm and the shared dance floor.
