Multi-faceted French producer and artist Crystallmess’ music immediately stands out for its abrasive dancefloor feel. Her DJ sets are uncompromising, ranging from hardcore rap to footwork. Legendary Chicago-based musician, producer, and DJ RP BOO is precisely one of the originators of footwork, revered and respected amongst the dance music cognoscenti. Both are invited to Astin next Friday for a fast-paced night curated by Jokkoo. Focused on spreading African and diasporic electronic sounds, the local collective will be represented by the high-energy Afroclub of its Hispano- Senegalese member B4MBA.
Born in 1993, in the dawn of electronics, through its cabin have passed names as relevant as Aphex Twin, Todd Terry, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, SBTRKT or Ellen Allien in addition to the local DJ Fra, Marc Piñol and DJ Kosmos. Its counterweight, B-side, reverse and its alternative is Astin, where every night is the same... but totally different.
