bbno$ has said that he decided to work in music after a back injury ruined his teenage dream of becoming a professional swimmer, although it is very difficult to tell when he is being serious and when he is joking. To be honest, it doesn't matter: everything about this Canadian rapper-not-rapper is like a giant private joke that anyone can join in on without needing any prior instructions. The enjoyment is instant and automatic with post-ironic and hilarious songs that share sound and visual elements with Die Antwoord, Oliver Tree and Tommy Cash, with whom he has, in fact, collaborated in the past.

Born in Vancouver to an Armenian family, Alex Gumuchian was homeschooled until the age of 14. An experience that, he has confessed, deprived him of much of the social skills that a teenager should have. It is as if he wants to make up for that lost time right now, his music is one big party to which everyone is invited: just listen to songs like it boy or check, that are as over the top as a college fraternity film.
