Official presentation of the new double album “Durruti, t’estimo”, an original and ambitious project that sets to music the life and death of Buenaventura Durruti. Musician Guillem Caballero and writer Tuli Márquez craft the portrait of a key figure in the workers’ struggle of a century ago, turned into both a Barcelona and a universal myth, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of his death.
From a punk-leaning take on Jesus Christ Superstar transformed into The Who’s Tommy, with the memory of Surfing Sirles pinned to its lapel. From A las Barricadas to symphonic surf in the style of the Beach Boys, from the chamber pop of Sufjan Stevens to the new Black Country, New Road, or the operatic melodies of Kurt Weill. A palette of colors spanning all eras that brings Durruti back to life and repositions the unfinished business of anarchism.
Companyia Les Solidàries forms a top-tier supergroup featuring members of Els Surfing Sirles, Les Testarudes, STA, Chaqueta de Chándal, and Les Cruet: Guillem Caballero (keyboards and vocals), Joan Colomo (guitar and vocals), Júlia Soler (trombone and vocals), Xavi Garcia (bass and vocals), Irene Molenz (guitar and vocals), Pablo Volt “Pope” (trumpet and vocals), and Pau Albà (drums and vocals), along with Jordi Castells on visuals.
