A lifelong bailaora and "neighborhood artist", La Húngara has connected flamenco quejío with sonorities close to commercial pop, a style she has consolidated over a twenty-year career. Stage name of the Sevillian Sonia Priego, the flamenco-pop icon will be at Sala Apolo on October 5 almost ten years after her first concert at the venue.
Discovered by producer Francisco Carmona while singing "Ese Hombre" by Rocío Jurado in a karaoke in Seville, and thanks to him and JJ Records, she debuted at the age of 21 with the tribute "A Camarón" (2001). Since then, he has not stopped releasing albums, recreating a flamenco pop with which he has achieved a wide audience.
Several songs with Camela, Los Chichos or Los Rebujitos placed her in a good position among the flamenco scene, but it was not until her collaboration with C. Tangana in "Tú me dejaste de Querer" (2020), together with El Niño de Elche, and subsequent performances with the artist at the Latin Grammys and the Tiny Desk in 2021 or at the Sónar in 2022, that she opened an even wider and more diverse range of audiences.
Twenty years of tireless work, facing multiple vital moments and changes in the music industry have made La Húngara an artist with a great capacity for adaptation and innovation that reaffirm her as a reference in Spanish music.
